Health System Expands Cardiac Catheterization Services at Holy Sites for Hajj Season 1447 AH

With the advancement of cardiac catheterization services and the expansion of their medical applications, the Saudi health system has strengthened the readiness of specialized cardiac care services in the holy sites during the 1447 AH Hajj season by providing specialized cardiac catheterization and heart surgery laboratories at several healthcare facilities. The move aims to enhance the efficiency of healthcare services provided to pilgrims as part of the objectives of the Health Sector Transformation Program and the Pilgrim Experience Program, both stemming from Saudi Vision 2030, to ensure access to specialized care during Hajj.

Cardiac catheterization is considered one of the modern medical procedures used to diagnose and treat heart and arterial diseases without conventional surgical intervention. It contributes to the rapid treatment of heart attacks and arterial blockages, while also improving diagnostic accuracy for critical cases, thereby increasing the chances of timely medical intervention and reducing health complications among pilgrims.

Specialized cardiac care services in the holy sites include catheterization and cardiac surgery services at King Abdullah Medical City, as well as cardiac catheterization services at Al-Noor Specialist Hospital, East Arafat Hospital, and Mina Emergency Hospital 2.

The health system has also deployed more than 3,000 ambulances and emergency vehicles, along with 11 air ambulances and 526 emergency response points, supported by more than 7,700 field emergency personnel, as part of its healthcare readiness plans to serve pilgrims during the 1447 AH Hajj season.
