Riyadh's Um Slaim School Highlights Najdi Architecture at Venice Biennale
The National Pavilion of Saudi Arabia will open its participation in the 2025 Venice Architecture Biennale tomorrow with "The Um Slaim School: An Architecture of Connection," an exhibition that explores and documents Najdi architecture in Riyadh.
The exhibition highlights architecture as a tool for collective knowledge and emerging spatial practices. It features an interactive archive of materials, photographs, models, films, and audio from the Um Slaim Collective.
The pavilion’s design features a central map table of Riyadh and a scaffolding structure adorned with textiles and visuals.
Architecture and Design Commission CEO Dr. Sumayah Al-Solaiman emphasized the Kingdom's commitment to global cultural dialogue and architectural education, in line with Vision 2030's support for the next generation of architects.
