Jeddah Islamic Port Welcomes Pilgrims with Enhanced Services, Streamlined Processes

The Saudi Ports Authority (Mawani) has finalized its operational plans to welcome pilgrims through Jeddah Islamic Port, in line with the leadership's directives to ensure seamless and efficient arrival and departure processes.
Mawani’s plans include deploying 100 passport counters, 300 vehicles for transporting passenger luggage, 12 support vessels, 24 security and safety patrols, 13 ambulances and fire trucks, and 11 medical facilities. Additionally, the arrival and departure halls have been upgraded to accommodate over 5,000 pilgrims, with special equipment provided for the elderly and those with medical needs.
This year, Mawani is implementing three key initiatives to streamline pilgrim travel: one for the direct transfer of luggage from ships to buses after customs inspection, bypassing additional checks; another that allows luggage to be sent to the shipping agent 48 hours before departure, easing movement for pilgrims; and a third that enables livestock trucks to travel from Jeddah to Makkah during restricted hours, in coordination with relevant authorities. These implementations save time and enhance the overall pilgrim experience.
