Masam Project Clears Over 2,670 Mines Across Yemen
King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief) Masam Project for clearing landmines from Yemen succeeded, during the third week of February 2026, in clearing 2,676 mines across various areas of Yemen. These included 17 anti-personnel mines, 149 anti-tank mines, 2,484 unexploded ordnance, and 26 improvised explosive devices.
With this, the number of mines cleared in February rose to 6,682, bringing the total cleared since the launch of the Masam project to 544,187. These devices had been indiscriminately planted across Yemeni lands to claim the lives of innocent civilians—children, women, and the elderly—and to instill fear among the population.
The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, through KSrelief, continues its efforts to clear Yemeni lands of mines under a project that enhances civilian safety and contributes to enabling the Yemeni people to live dignified and secure lives.
