Municipalities Ministry: 8,427 Saudi Families Benefited from Housing Support in January 2026
The Ministry of Municipalities and Housing announced that 8,427 Saudi families benefited from housing support services during January 2026 across various regions of the Kingdom. The support was provided under the “Sakani” program as part of efforts to enable Saudi families to own suitable homes and achieve the objectives of the Housing Program, one of the initiatives of Saudi Vision 2030.
Riyadh Region accounted for 26% of total beneficiary families, followed by Makkah Region at 18% and Eastern Region at 14%. The remaining percentages were distributed across other regions of the Kingdom, reflecting the wide geographic reach of the program and diverse housing demand nationwide.
The ministry stated that the average daily execution rate of housing product contracts during January reached 428 contracts per day. This reflects continued momentum in housing enablement and accelerated homeownership procedures for eligible families.
The “Sakani” program continues to offer a comprehensive package of housing options. These include ready-built units, units under construction within off-plan sales projects in most regions, self-construction options, and residential land plots. The program provides diverse choices tailored to families’ needs.
The ministry added that the total number of contracts signed since the launch of the “Sakani” program in 2017 through the end of January 2026 reached 1,016,886 contracts across the Kingdom. This reflects the cumulative impact of the program in enabling Saudi families to own their homes.
Minister of Municipalities and Housing Majed Al-Hogail previously announced that the homeownership rate among Saudi families exceeded 66.24% by the end of 2025. This indicates progress toward achieving the Housing Program’s targets and strengthening public-private partnerships in the housing sector.
