ZATCA Thwarts Attempt to Smuggle 426,000 Amphetamine Pills at Al-Haditha Border Crossing
The Zakat, Tax and Customs Authority (ZATCA) at Al-Haditha border crossing thwarted an attempt to smuggle 426,162 amphetamine pills into the Kingdom after discovering them hidden within a truck’s spare tire compartment during a routine security inspection.
ZATCA spokesperson Hamoud Al-Harbi affirmed the authority’s commitment to tightening control over all ports of entry to protect society from illicit goods, emphasizing that coordination with the General Directorate of Narcotics Control is central to a broader strategy for enhancing national security and curbing smuggling.
Al-Harbi encouraged the public to support these efforts by reporting smuggling activities via the dedicated security number 1910, email 1910@zatca.gov.sa, or the international line 009661910. The authority ensures complete confidentiality for informants and offers financial rewards for accurate reports.
