Islamic Affairs Ministry Concludes Foundational Religious Course in Maldives
The Ministry of Islamic Affairs, Dawah and Guidance, represented by the religious attaché at the Saudi Embassy in India, concluded a three-day foundational course today on the creed of Ahl al-Sunnah wal-Jama'ah for the training of imams, preachers, and muezzins. The course was organized in cooperation with the Ministry of Islamic Affairs and Endowments of the Maldives at the Islamic Center in Malé. It benefited more than 120 imams, preachers, muezzins, and Islamic studies students.
A ceremony was held on the occasion, during which Maldives Minister of Islamic Affairs and Endowments Dr. Mohamed Shaheem Ali Saeed expressed his appreciation to the leadership of Saudi Arabia for its continued support for Islamic work and service to Muslims worldwide.
He emphasized that the course represents an important academic milestone in qualifying imams, preachers, and Islamic preachers in the Maldives. He said it also reflects the strong fraternal ties between the two countries, founded on serving Islam and promoting Islamic knowledge.
At the conclusion of the ceremony, certificates of participation were presented to the course participants.
