Saudi Arabia Participates in First IAACA European Regional Conference in Budapest

Oversight and Anti-Corruption Authority (Nazaha) President Mazen Al-Kahmous led Saudi Arabia's delegation to the first European Regional Conference of the International Association of Anti-Corruption Authorities (IAACA) held in Budapest, Hungary, where he highlighted the Kingdom's comprehensive strategic approach to combating transnational corruption under Vision 2030.

 Al-Kahmous emphasized the country's focus on transparency, accountability, and international cooperation, noting Saudi Arabia's pioneering initiative to collect data for measuring corruption objectively. He urged the IAACA Executive Committee to support scientific tools for measuring corruption and praised the Kingdom's active participation in global mechanisms such as the GlobE Network.

 The Executive Committee approved the Kingdom's request to host the IAACA meeting in 2027, a decision reflecting international confidence in Saudi Arabia's anti-corruption efforts. The Budapest conference addressed emerging challenges, including the role of artificial intelligence in corruption, the development of unified anti-corruption legislation, and the importance of cross-border information exchange.

 The Kingdom’s leading role in the IAACA, including its election to the Executive Committee in February 2025, underscores its commitment to the United Nations Convention against Corruption. The IAACA, representing over 194 bodies worldwide, remains dedicated to reducing bribery and corruption globally by 2030 through specialized training and international partnerships.
