Nearly 100,000 male and female students from across the Kingdom registered for this year’s competition.
According to Mawhiba, 19,489 students from 16 educational regions, in addition to the General Administrations of Education of the Royal Commission for Jubail and Yanbu, have qualified for the second stage. Participants competed across six disciplines: 5,830 in mathematics, 5,057 in informatics, 2,220 in biology, 2,218 in physics, 2,102 in science, and 2,061 in chemistry.
The “NSMO” Olympiad is the Kingdom’s largest annual national competition dedicated to science and mathematics. Targeting students from the first intermediate to the first secondary grade, it progresses through multiple stages, from school-level contests to education department qualifiers, culminating in national team competitions and final rounds held in Riyadh. The initiative aims to identify and nurture talented students, equipping them to represent the Kingdom in international scientific Olympiads.
