Electronics Showcase Highlights Shift to Local Semiconductor Manufacturing at LEAP 2026

Saudi Arabia's shift from importing electronics to local manufacturing took center stage at LEAP 2026, highlighting ongoing industry efforts to build a comprehensive national semiconductor platform by 2030.

 Pioneers of Industry for Electronic Systems (PIESCO) representative Fayez Al-Harbi said the company is translating the hardware needs of the defense, industrial, and technology sectors into electronic products designed and manufactured entirely within Saudi Arabia.

 The localization strategy aims to secure supply chains, achieve technological independence, and build national capabilities that can compete in regional and global markets.
