Saudi Arabia to Participate in COFO28, 10th World Forest Week in Rome

Saudi Arabia, represented by the National Center for Vegetation Cover Development and Combating Desertification (NCVC), will participate in the 28th Session of the Committee on Forestry (COFO28), organized by the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) in Rome, Italy, from September 28 to October 2, 2026.

 COFO28 will be held concurrently with the 10th World Forest Week under the theme "Forests for Food, Resilience and Prosperity."

 The Kingdom's participation reflects its active presence in regional and international forums concerned with forests and its contribution to global dialogue on sustainable forest management and ecosystem restoration.

 During the event, Saudi Arabia will showcase its approaches and experience in sustainable forest management and ecosystem restoration, aimed at improving ecosystem efficiency and enhancing resilience.

 The event coincides with Saudi Arabia's chairmanship of the 26th Session of the Near East Forestry and Range Commission (NEFRC) from September 2025 to August 2027.
