HRC, UN Conclude Training of Trainers Program on Anti-Torture Convention in Riyadh
The Human Rights Commission (HRC), in collaboration with the UN Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR), concluded a five-day Training of Trainers program on the International Convention against Torture in Riyadh, attended by HRC President Dr. Hala Al-Tuwaijri and UN Resident Coordinator in Saudi Arabia Mohamed Zarkani.
Al-Tuwaijri stated that the initiative aimed to develop national expertise by qualifying employees from various government agencies to lead future training sessions. By focusing on the practical application of international human rights standards, the program ensures a sustainable transfer of knowledge and strengthens the institutional capacities of participating entities.
This cooperation is part of a broader memorandum between the HRC and the OHCHR to integrate human rights principles into professional practices. The program emphasized effective methods for preparing and delivering training to raise awareness and support capacity building across the Kingdom's government sectors.
