The crimson-speckled moth (Utetheisa pulchella) has been observed across Northern Borders Region, showcasing the area’s rich springtime biodiversity. Belonging to the order Lepidoptera, this insect is easily identified by its white wings adorned with striking red and black spots.

Commonly found in Europe, North Africa, and parts of Asia, the species is recognized for its seasonal migratory behavior. It thrives in dry, open environments such as meadows and grasslands. As caterpillars, they feed on various wild plants, playing an essential role in the ecological balance and the natural life cycle of the region's vegetation.
