Animal Taxidermy Workshops at International Saudi Falcons and Hunting Exhibition 2026

The "Taxidermy World" pavilion at the International Saudi Falcons and Hunting Exhibition 2026 features a workshop area where visitors can learn and practice animal taxidermy. The pavilion also attracts large numbers of visitors who come to view the taxidermied animals and learn about their characteristics and habitats, offering an experience that combines observation and learning.

Among the taxidermied animals displayed at Taxidermy World is the Asiatic lion, whose information card recalls a chapter in the history of wildlife in Saudi Arabia. The species once lived in the region before disappearing by the late 19th century due to environmental changes and human pressures, including hunting. Rock carvings document its historical presence within the Prince Mohammed bin Salman Royal Reserve, while its reintroduction remains a future objective.

Visitors can also learn about the Arabian striped hyena, which inhabits the Arabian Peninsula, including Saudi Arabia. It is distinguished by its grayish, straw-colored fur, dark stripes, and large ears. It is mainly nocturnal and feeds primarily on carrion, as well as fruit, insects, and some small animals.

The Barbary sheep, or aoudad, is a mammal that inhabits the mountainous and rocky regions of North Africa. It is adapted to hot, dry environments and rugged terrain, and both males and females have curved horns. It feeds on grasses, shrubs, and leaves. Its information card notes that it is not native to Saudi Arabia or the Arabian Peninsula.

Taxidermy World also features a virtual reality experience, adding an interactive dimension to the tour and offering visitors another way to learn about animals and their habitats.
