ZATCA Seizes over 154,000 Captagon Pills at Al-Haditha Border Crossing
The Zakat, Tax and Customs Authority (ZATCA) at Al-Haditha border crossing thwarted an attempt to smuggle 154,108 amphetamine (Captagon) pills concealed within a shipment of tents arriving in the Kingdom.
ZATCA spokesperson Hamoud Al-Harbi stated that the seizure was made possible through the use of advanced security technologies and inspection equipment. Following the discovery, ZATCA coordinated with the General Directorate of Narcotics Control, leading to the arrest of five individuals intended to receive the shipment within Saudi Arabia.
Al-Harbi reaffirmed ZATCA’s commitment to securing the Kingdom’s borders and protecting society from the smuggling of prohibited substances. He urged the public to report suspicious activities via the dedicated security number 1910 or email 1910@zatca.gov.sa, noting that all reports are handled with strict confidentiality and may be eligible for financial rewards.
