‘Visitor’s Companion’ Initiative Showcases Islamic Affairs Ministry’s Digital Services in Madinah
The Ministry of Islamic Affairs, Dawah and Guidance, represented by its branch in Madinah Region, has launched a comprehensive initiative titled “visitor’s companion” as part of its Ramadan operational plans.
The initiative aligns with the ministry’s ongoing efforts to advance digital transformation and introduce the technological services and programs it provides to serve Umrah performers, visitors to the Prophet’s Mosque, and worshippers at major mosques.
It aims to highlight a package of digital applications and platforms developed by the ministry to meet the needs of visitors and Umrah performers. Among them is the “Rushd” application, which offers trusted awareness and guidance content, as well as 3D Hajj and Umrah technology that enables users to learn about the rituals through an interactive and simplified experience in multiple languages. It also features an electronic library providing access to a wide range of Islamic books and scholarly works.
The initiative further introduces the “accurate citation” service, a reliable digital reference for verifying and documenting texts from the Holy Quran and the Two Sahihs (Sahihayn) collections. The service allows users to search Quranic verses and Hadiths from Sahih Al-Bukhari and Sahih Muslim, with options to easily copy and share results, including verse translations and interpretations.
It is being implemented through various awareness and promotional channels, including interactive screens, digital materials, guidance messages, and direct outreach at locations frequented by visitors, ensuring the widest possible reach and optimal utilization of the available digital services.
