General Food Security Authority Awards Fourth Imported Wheat Shipment of 2026

The General Food Security Authority (GFSA) has completed the awarding procedures for the fourth shipment of imported wheat for 2026, totaling 661,000 tons, to be sourced from the European Union, North and South America, Australia, and the Black Sea region.

In a statement today, GFSA President Eng. Ahmad Al-Fares said that the contract for this shipment is part of the authority's efforts to enhance and maintain the Kingdom's strategic wheat reserves at safe levels and meet all the needs of milling companies.

He added that branches of the National Grain Supply Company (SABIL) will receive the contracted quantities for the fourth shipment, which are scheduled to arrive between September and October 2026 aboard 11 vessels. The shipment will be distributed across four vessels carrying 244,000 tons to Jeddah Islamic Port, six vessels carrying 362,000 tons to Yanbu Commercial Port, and one vessel carrying 55,000 tons to Jazan Port.

Fourteen qualified international grain trading companies competed for the tender, and contracts were awarded to six companies that submitted the lowest-priced bids meeting the required specifications.
