Riyadh Book Fair: A Hub for Cultural Exchange and Literary Innovation

The Riyadh International Book Fair 2025, organized by the Literature, Publishing and Translation Commission, commenced today at Princess Nourah bint Abdulrahman University and will run until October 11. The fair features over 2,000 local and international publishing houses from more than 25 countries, alongside various cultural institutions.

 This event serves as a major platform for publishers and a hub for cultural exchange, uniting writers and book enthusiasts from within and outside the Kingdom.

 CEO of the Literature, Publishing and Translation Commission Dr. Abdullatif Al-Wasel stated that the fair aligns with the Kingdom's strategy to enhance its cultural leadership both regionally and globally. He emphasized the importance of leveraging culture to drive community awareness and economic growth in line with Vision 2030.

 Dr. Al-Wasel noted that Uzbekistan’s selection as the guest of honor at the fair reflects its significant cultural role and strong ties with the Kingdom, underscoring the event's contribution to cultural exchange and intellectual output. Uzbekistan showcases its literary heritage through a pavilion featuring manuscripts and a diverse cultural program that highlights Uzbek artists.

 The fair includes seminars, lectures, poetry evenings, and workshops featuring prominent writers and thinkers. It also features participation from the Theater and Performing Arts Commission, including performances and collaborations with Uzbek artists.

 Additionally, the fair introduces several zones, including an expanded business zone designed to empower the publishing industry and foster partnerships among leading entities.

 Open daily from 11:00 AM to midnight, except Fridays when it opens at 2:00 PM, the fair invites visitors to explore the latest publications and participate in its extensive cultural program, reinforcing its status as a premier cultural hub in the region.
