'The Comeback' Boxing Event Concludes in Jeddah
The Comeback boxing event has concluded at the Jeddah Superdome as part of the Jeddah Calendar activities in cooperation with Riyadh Season, featuring 13 bouts with prominent international boxers alongside rising Saudi talents.
Britain's Anthony Joshua headlined the event, defeating Albania's Kristian Prenga by knockout in the second round. Despite being knocked down twice in the first round, Joshua regained control and delivered a series of powerful punches to clinch victory.
In post-fight remarks, Joshua and Matchroom Sport Chairman Eddie Hearn praised General Entertainment Authority Chairman and Saudi Boxing Federation President Turki Alalshikh for his role in advancing boxing globally and hosting the event. Joshua expressed gratitude to the Jeddah crowd for their warm reception.
Saudi boxers secured three victories: Sultan Almohammed defeated Spain's Efren Besalduch by TKO in the third round; Mohammed Alakel defeated Malta's Lydon Chircop by TKO in the fifth round; and Ziyad Almaayouf defeated Tanzania's Frank Mango by unanimous decision.
